ExpertsFM Privacy Policy
ExpertsFM is made by Race to Saturn, LLC ("we" or "us"). ExpertsFM lets AI assistants such as Claude search podcast episodes, quote what was said, and play clips. This policy explains what information we collect through ExpertsFM, how we use and share it, and how long we keep it.
ExpertsFM and AI assistants
When you use ExpertsFM through an AI assistant such as Claude, made by Anthropic,1 the assistant's provider, not ExpertsFM, handles your conversations under its own terms and policies.
ExpertsFM receives the requests the assistant sends it, which contain whatever the assistant includes. ExpertsFM asks the assistant to leave out personal or confidential details, but any information included in a request is received by ExpertsFM.
What we collect
Requests from the assistant. To find relevant moments, the assistant sends ExpertsFM the subject being researched (for example, "why Costco keeps its hot dog price") and details such as words to look for, show names, and episode or clip identifiers.
Usage and analytics. We collect information about how ExpertsFM is used. ExpertsFM doesn't store the text of searches as part of its normal operation, though search text may appear in technical or error logs and is processed by our search and AI providers.
Playlists. When the assistant makes a playlist for you, we save what's needed to play and share it, such as the chosen clips, the text the assistant wrote for it (its title, description, and clip notes), and when it was made. Anyone with a playlist's link can open it. Disconnecting ExpertsFM from your assistant does not delete saved playlists.
Technical information. When you or an assistant connect to ExpertsFM or visit our pages, we and our service providers record standard technical information, such as IP address, the page or resource requested, browser type, and errors. We may use this information, including IP addresses, to apply rate limits, investigate problems, and protect the service. We and third parties may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to operate our pages and understand how they're used.
Features that run in your assistant. Some ExpertsFM features run in your own assistant account, such as scheduled tasks you set up or pages the assistant builds for you. When they run, the assistant sends ExpertsFM requests like those described above.
Messages you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
We may also collect other technical and usage information as needed to operate, secure, and improve ExpertsFM.
How we use information
We may use information to:
- provide and operate ExpertsFM, including answering requests and playing and sharing playlists;
- maintain, improve, and develop ExpertsFM;
- understand how ExpertsFM is used;
- keep ExpertsFM secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our policies;
- respond to messages you send us; and
- comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We don't sell personal information. We may share information:
- with service providers that process it on our behalf, such as for hosting, data storage, search and AI services, and error monitoring (for example, our search and AI providers process search text and its numerical representation to find relevant material);
- at your direction, such as when you share a playlist link;
- to comply with law or legal process, or to respond to lawful requests;
- to protect the rights, safety, or security of ExpertsFM, our users, or others, and to investigate fraud or abuse;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business or assets; and
- with your consent.
Third-party content. Our pages may load content from third parties, such as fonts and video players. Podcast audio may stream from the podcast's hosting provider and any measurement services the podcast uses. These third parties receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and handle it under their own policies.
How long we keep information
- Searches: ExpertsFM doesn't store search text as part of its normal operation, though it may appear in technical or error logs.
- Usage and analytics information: we may keep it indefinitely.
- Playlists: we may keep them indefinitely.
- Technical information: we may keep it indefinitely.
Our service providers may retain information under their own retention policies, for example for abuse monitoring or to meet legal requirements. We may also keep information longer where needed for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Your choices
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to delete a playlist, email build@racetosaturn.com. For a playlist, include its link. We may need information to verify and locate your request, and may decline requests we can't verify or where the law permits.
Changes to this policy
This policy describes our practices as of the effective date above. We may update it by posting a new version on this page.
